Hoodia Gordonii Extract
Hoodia gordonii extract – it is pure Hoodia?
I am curious whether the sample means pure hoodia. Does anyone know?
Not everything. It depends on how the sample was made. Extracts are made by soaking powdered Hoodia gordonii extract and its principles assets in a liquid solution. The problem is that all hoodia powder is created equal. There are two types of hoodia powder – whole hoodia plant powder and concentrated "core" of hoodia powder. Powdered whole plant Hoodia is when the whole plant – the roots, skin, fiber, etc. are dried and ground into powder. It is the least expensive and least effective hoodia gordonii powder. Concentrated core powder is where they peel the stems, air dry them, then crushed into powder. It's more expensive but more efficient and more "pure" Hoodia Gordonii. The reason why there is such a difference is because that the active ingredient in Hoodia gordonii plant (P57) is found only in the nucleus of the antenna rods. The rest of the plant is just filler. Powder Plant is all filler most with very little active ingredient. This is why it is so cheap (and why it is not as effective). The other problem is that most of the extracts of hoodia on the market today are fake – meaning they contain no active ingredient found in Hoodia Gordonii. In other words, the extract is made from a different variety or no Hoodia Hoodia at all! Because Hoodia is not regulated, companies can get away with anything (although that may now change as soon as FTC cracks down). The bottom line is this, not all extracts are "pure" hoodia. The only "pure" hoodia extracts are those made with powder concentrated base. Hoodia Cactus Extract
Has anyone used any weight loss pills? Do they work?
I have researched a pill called ‘Hoodia’. Its an extract from a cactus plant that helps reduce the urge for food. Has anyone used these pills or recommend any others, if any?
The Hoodia cactus can work wonders. However mass producing the effects of the cactus in pill form has proven unsuccessful. They cannot get it to work.
I believe there is a drug company that is working on it recreating the benefits of it into a weight loss pill, however that pill is not expected to be on the market for a year or more.
Some years ago, a South African scientific research organization isolated the appetite-suppressing ingredient in Hoodia and patented it. The organization licensed the patent to a small British firm called Phytopharm, which then sold it to Pfizer, the giant pharmaceutical firm. Pfizer hoped to create a diet pill containing the Hoodia compound, but the plan to isolate and synthesize the ingredient proved more difficult than expected, and not cost-effective. So now, Phytopharm has the patent back and has established Hoodia plantations in South Africa. The company plans to market a diet product containing Hoodia by about 2007.
If Pfizer is having a hard time doing it, I cant imagine it will
be that easy to re-create. Dont waste your money.

Has anyone tried Irwin Naturals Fast Action Hoodia Diet? They are liquid capsules. I wonder if it works. Please do not advertise this website. I saw that you wrote the exact same answer for many others. Do you work for this site? They are a scam, they will ask for your credit card and charge you automatically each month for a new shipping cost.
